Blogger Fail
Last month was packed full of blogging, freelance writing projects, bookstagram, and networking with people that are totally cool. Truthfully, March was jam-packed!
I figured when April rolled in I’d be on point and ready for more springtime fun online. Yeah, that’s what I get for thinkin’… Allow me to tell you how April is playing a joke on me & how I burst my own bubble.
April was supposed to start with a big ole *bang!* with the A-Z Challenge, Camp NaNoWriMo, getting my BookTube channel set up, and freelance writing projects, amongst other things. Then *da da daaaa* I got slammed with allergies.ಥ_ಥ
All those plans and my excitement to be part of some amazing online projects got tossed out with the two full boxes of Kleenex (and sinus meds…) I’ve gone through in a week. I had to nix the A-Z Challenge (see ya next year!) and am already behind with Camp NaNoWriMo.
But all isn’t lost! I’ve rearranged, adapted, and moved several things to the front burner. What’s coming up next will be really exciting. So, I’ll stay positive, pray to the allergy gods for a reprieve, and get crackin’ on what I can accomplish.
Exciting & upcoming news
A-Z Challenge aside *pouting*, there are some great things on the agenda for April. I’ll be kicking the alphabet’s butt and taking home a prize as I participate in this year’s Camp NaNoWriMo. That’s a personal journey of sorts, and I’ll share the experience once awhile.
I’m proud to announce that I’ve been invited to contribute with the awesome ladies over at Literary Quicksand! If you haven’t checked their site out yet, please do. LQ is “a group of ladies with diverse interests who love books, bookish things, and living bookishly.” I get all warm and fuzzy whenever I think about collaborating with other peeps that are of the same heart and mindset as me, so yeah, I’m psyched to be a contributor!
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’ve scheduled a lot of cover reveals on the blog in the last week. If you have noticed, you may have come across a lot of photos of muscly men with killer tans, women with glorious hair and pouty lips, and both with bodies that aren’t seen in real life (at least not in my real life).
You may have thought to yourself that Literary Laundry List is turning into a romance only site, but not to worry, you can’t get pregnant from the pictures again those pesky allergies kept me from my editorial calendar and while I couldn’t exactly get killer content up while I was infirmed, I could help authors spread the word about their upcoming books. The book reviews, blogging and freelance writing info, and general dorkery that I usually provide will be back as of right now!
Next up, I’m creating a Wiki for books. Now, this I’m “bouncing in my chair” excited to share with you! I’m still hammering out the odds-n-ends, but once it’s up and ready you’ll be able to share your insight and information on all things bookish & then discuss those deets with the Wiki community here on Literary Laundry List. Cool? Yeah, I think so too *wink*.
March Book Wrap-Up
There were tons, upon tons, of ARC’s, books, ebooks, & audiobooks that I’ve consumed in March, and that my friends, is a major high point. So, I won’t worry too much over my epic fail and instead focus on what’s going well. See that? I can turn just about anything into a positive!
Here’s a list of the books that were read in March! (In no particular order.):
- The Girl from the Paradise Ballroom, by Alison Love
- Built, by Jay Crownover
- You are a Badass, Jen Sincero
- Play, Kylie Scott
- Slip of the Tongue, by Jessica Hawkins
- Launch, by Jeff Walker
- Carter Reed, by Lucy Rivers
- Carter Reed 2, Lucy Rivers
Book reviews will be posted in the upcoming month for all of those darlings up there, so stayed tuned.
So, whatcha think? Not a total fail, right? Excited about what’s coming up this month??
Take care & be kind☆彡
Ahh, life. It sure likes to mess up the best laid plans.
Truer words… I was so (sooooo) bummed about nixing some of those events, but there’s still some cool stuff comin’ up! 🙂
